Letters of Interpretation for Subpart P

OSHA requirements are set by statute, standards and regulations.
Interpretation letters explain these requirements and how they apply to particular circumstances, but they cannot create additional employer obligations. OSHA updates and removes letters from time to time in response to new information. To keep apprised of such developments, competent persons must stay current with all applicable letters.
